Big Lottery Grant Success!

Manor Way Allotments have been awarded a lottery grant of £9,951.00 to create 27 new plots. The Manor Way site has 64 plots, of which 27 plots are non rentable due to being water logged. The grant will enable the site to convert half of each of the 27 plots into raised beds, filled with top soil and pathways created between beds using hardcore to provide drainage. Being able to rent the 27 plots will provide additional income for the site, enabling self sufficiency.

We would like to thank the Big Lottery for the grant they have awarded to Manor Way Allotments.

Work is under way to regenerate our sites. Current jobs include installing new railings on three sites to increase site security, laying of 120 tonne of hard core on 4 sites to improve access and safety of site paths, installation of a new water metre and installing water well covers on 3 sites. Its a busy time for all members and we are all excited to see the changes taking place.

Landmark Day!

We are pleased to announce we have successfully secured further funding off Crewe Town Council to continue the regeneration of Crewe Allotments. By the end of 2015-16 Crewe Town Council will have invested £65k in Crewe allotments. The funding will enable both the Federation and allotments to continue growing from strength to strength and offer quality sites and plots to tenants. We would like to thank Crewe Town Council for all their help and support and look forward to our continued work.
